SA: SA declares second fruit fly outbreak

ADELAIDE, Jan 11 AAP - South Australia's second fruit fly outbreak for the season was
declared today after Mediterranean fruit fly larvae were found in backyard apricots in the
eastern suburbs of Adelaide.

Primary Industries and Resources SA said the larvae was found in Maylands after a vigilant
householder reported maggots in fruit.

Plant health chief inspector David Cartwright said a 1.5 km radius quarantine zone would be
set up around the site, while an eradication program involving spraying and baiting would take
place within a 400 metre …
