It took nearly three months, but the Interlaken Homeowners Association was finally able to get a special tax district created that will allow its members to write off a portion of their association assessments.
The delays didn't come with the City Council, which approved the special assessment district unanimously at its May 7 meeting. The problems originated with the homeowners group.
